This is a plugin so upgrading to J1.6/1.7 should be an easy task, i myself are developing this into our clients system to search indexed pdf’s so we will most definitely be converting it if its not done before hand

looks nice, but there is a big problem, this only seems to work with joomla contents table… what about other components / tables???

Nice writeup. Only one comment. You mention using “search” to verify the setup. It doesnt check that searchd is running correctly. (“search” accesses the indexes directly).

You could use search to test, before running searchd. For testing searchd, would recommend using test.php in the api directory.

(unfortunatly “search” program, is a much misunderstood part of sphinx)

Hi!

Thank you for the wonderful plugin.

there is one little point - if no results found, error is displayed.

to fix it, open {joomla_root}pluginssearchsphinxContent.php file, and at the end of plgSearchSphinxContent function change

if (!empty($ids)) {
..
}

to

if (!empty($ids)) {
..
// return results back to Joomla
return $results;
}

return array();

in file
